What a week! The first tea party convention started in Tennessee, a conservative was confirmed in a Senate seat held by Ted Kennedy for decades, in the decidedly liberal state of Massachusetts, Harry Reid has lost control of his… well… control, and yesterday at a prayer breakfast, President Obama said, “.. we all know that Democracy is messy, let’s not get overly nostalgic…” If, by “overly nostalgic” he meant “patriotic”, he can kiss my….. grassroots.

Keep and eye on Reject Reid 2010, the 9-12ers, PACT, and other conservative groups locally, we are working together to unify conservative efforts across Nevada. Affiliated groups and organizations have their events and meetings listed on our events calendar.

~~Anger~~ Action is Brewing is in the process of assembling a new board of directors, redesigning the website, building a new logo, starting our voter registration drive, and planning upcoming events. We are working on an April 23rd candidates forum, debate, and reception in Reno, and a May 1st Tea Party in Carson City. The Tea Party Express III will be in Searchlight on March 27th, just over a month later, Northern Nevada will call “MAYDAY, MAYDAY, MAYDAY, Nevada is ready for conservatives to answer the distress call from individuals, families, and small businesses who have been victimized by unfunded mandates!”

~~Anger~~ / Action is Brewing is now officially working on Candidate recruitment in Northern Nevada.

We are looking for conservative candidates to run for NV House and Senate in the following districts. We will assist you with fund raising, campaigning, and volunteer recruitment.

Assembly District 40 (Carson City) currently held by Bonnie Parnell.
Senate District 1 (Washoe), currently held by Bernice Matthews

To qualify as a tea party candidate, you must be a fiscal conservative and be:

Willing to be held accountable to Nevada Taxpayers, and constituents in your district, for both your words and actions and be willing to also demand accountability from your fellow elected representatives.
Willing to be transparent in all aspects of your legislative activities. By running on a conservative platform as a tea party candidate, you acknowledge that you are in office, not in power, and that you work for the taxpayers of NV and constituents in your district.
Willing to practice fiscal responsibility in the legislature as you would in your home or business; The Nevada taxpayers are individuals, families, and small business owners, the “unfunded mandate” is as unacceptable for the legislature as it is for the taxpayer.
Willing to pledge that everything you do as an elected representative of the people of Nevada will be in compliance with the US Constitution.

Reps. Jason Chaffetz and Frank Kratovil Introduce Pro-Enforcement, Anti-Amnesty Resolution on Thursday, January 21, 2010

Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah) has introduced a bi-partisan House Resolution along with Rep. Frank Kratovil (D-Md.) and 20 other House Members that would express the House’s intent to 1) mandate the nationwide use of E-Verify, 2) secure the borders, and 3) prevent any amnesty as part of an immigration reform bill.

Whereas the continued peace, prosperity, liberty, and national security of the United States and its people depend upon the rule of law and credible and effective immigration enforcement policies which both welcome lawful immigrants and non-immigrants and also prevent the unlawful entry or unlawful continuing presence of foreign persons: Now, therefore, be it Resolved, That it is the sense of the House of Representatives that-

(1) the use of a basic pilot program described in section 403(a) of the Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act of 1996 (8 U.S.C. 1324a note; commonly known as the E-verify program) by employers of workers within the United States should be mandatory, and that enforcement policies should hold both employers and employees responsible whenever an individual’s employment violates United States immigration law;

(2) installing and sustaining the necessary border infrastructure and manpower to effectively secure and control United States borders to prevent the unauthorized passage of persons or contraband is a critical responsibility of the Federal Government; and

(3) any immigration reform proposal adopted by Congress should not legalize, grant amnesty for, or confer any other legal status condoning the other- wise unlawful entry or presence in the United States of any individual.

S2290: 1 Year Moratorium on Earmarks

Anger is Brewing received information on two major budget reforms today, S.2990 (a one year moratorium on earmarks) and SJ Res.27 (a Constitutional Amendment requiring Congress to balance the budget). While the article is reprinted here in it’s entirety, we do NOT support SJ Res 27 as a constitutional amendment. If we don’t trust our elected representatives to balance a budget to the best of their ability, then let’s vote them out. We will stand together and do just that in November.

Thursday, February 4, 2010Senator Jim DeMint (R-SC) introduced two major budget reforms today: S.2990, a one-year moratorium on earmarks and, S.J.Res. 27, a Constitutional Amendment requiring Congress to balance the budget. DeMint is calling on his Republicans colleagues to lead by example and cosponsor both of these important measures.

As you may be already aware that the earth has been cooling, roughly for a decade. The last few years the cooling has become rapid. This July was the first time that New York City never reached 90 degrees. This October was the third coldest October ever recorded world wide. Then several things happened. This hoax was pushed by the media causing great human suffering. What do the top meteorologists have to say about Global Warming? Who are the two most famous meteorologists in the world? It would likely be Joe Bastardi the head meteorologist for AccuWeather and John Coeleman the founder of The Weather Channel. As of today both are on the record that Global warming is not happening and in fact we have Global Cooling due to natural causes and cycles. John Coleman has been quite upfront about this. Then as now the Pretend Media went along with both hoaxes because the objective was the same, to get government control of business and to use it as a ploy to bring about One World Government. It is good news that the scientific fraud has been exposed in the case of the Global Warming Hoax. The long term solution is of course what the American Media Revolution is all about, bringing about legitimate TV news via ownership of TV companies by Americans who believe in legitimate news. We can not reform the frauds that run most of the TV news media in America, we have to replace them and become the media ourselves.

Senator Reid has issued several statements recently related to Yucca Mountain that I feel compelled to dispel.

Senator Reid’s truth:

From his January 28, 2010 media release: “President Obama and I have worked closely to stop dumping taxpayer money into Yucca, and I have fought hard to ensure Yucca Mountain is dead.”

The Inconvenient Truth:

Taxpayer money has not been spent to build the repository at Yucca Mountain. The funds come from the users of nuclear power.

The average household has paid about $1.25 a month since the 1980’s into the Nuclear Waste Trust Fund. Those funds are designated specifically to pay for a repository at Yucca Mountain, as required by the Nuclear Waste Policy Act. If Yucca is “dead,” then our government is collecting those funds under false pretenses. They are perpetuating a fraud on the millions of Americans who get their power from a nuclear power plant.

Senator Reid’s truth:

From his statement on January 31, 2010: “…funding for the proposed Yucca Mountain project will be eliminated and the Department will take steps to withdraw the license application in the near future.

If the Department of Energy pulls the license application for Yucca, it will violate the Nuclear Waste Policy Act. It will be subject to law suits from millions of nuclear power users and nuclear power companies. It will likely have to pay back the Nuclear Waste Trust Fund the $10 billion spent to build Yucca (funds that will come from taxpayers this time.) It will be subject to law suits from several states that have agreements with the DOE. It will delay the future expansion of nuclear power, which even President Obama has endorsed in climate change and energy legislation.

Senator Reid’s truth:

“Yucca is dead.”

The law of the land, the Nuclear Waste Policy Act, states that the Department of Energy shall take possession of nuclear spent fuel and store it at Yucca Mountain. That law has not changed. All Senator Reid has done is cut funds to the project, increasing its cost, delaying the government’s legal obligations, and costing 1500 Nevadans their jobs.

Senator Reid’s truth:

Designating Yucca Mountain as a nuclear repository was a political decision.

True. The so called “Screw Nevada” bill was written to punish then Senator Dick Bryan (D-NV) for derailing the National Energy Strategy bill that was backed by the Senate Energy Committee.

What you don’t hear is that Yucca was the site most favored by the scientific community for a repository, prior to the writing of the Screw Nevada bill.

However, the attempt to kill Yucca is also political. If the site is truly unsafe as Senator Reid claims, he should allow the license application process to continue to prove his claim.

For Senator Reid, his truth is that Yucca must be stopped so he can be re-elected…regardless of the national legal and economic issues associated with this truly political decision.

Then there is the inconvenient truth: A repository at Yucca is still the law of the land. Yucca is vital to meeting our nation’s growing energy needs. Yucca has proven to be the safest place in America to store spent fuel. With an operating budget of $1.5 billion a year, Yucca has positive economic aspects for Nevada… but not as just a repository….

Burying spent fuel is an outdated, stupid idea. It’s time Senator Reid used his power to amend the Nuclear Waste Policy Act to incorporate emerging technologies that will use the spent fuel to generate power, something that is being done around the world. He should make Yucca the new nuclear test site: a place to research and develop nuclear technologies to better address spent fuel and help meet our nation’s need for clean energy.

Senate Amendment to Debt Limit Increase Approved by House

February 4, 2010: The House of Representatives Thursday voted to raise the debt limit by $1.9 trillion. That vote raises the debt ceiling to $14.3 trillion, a new high for the amount of debt the U.S. has ever carried.
