Pelosi Took “Jab” At President Obama For Not Keeping Campaign Promises, Saying “There Are A Number Of Things He Was For On The Campaign Trail.” “But Pelosi did toss a jab President Obama’s way. Las Vegas, NV: Today, Nevada Republican Party Chairman Christopher Comfort issued the following statement concerning Harry Reid attempt to bypass a public reconciliation of the House and Senate versions of the health care bills:
“Shortly after the 2006 midterm election, Senator Harry Reid said, ‘The just completed election was a declaration to all that now is the time to change direction in Washington. No longer can we allow special interests and lawmakers to conspire behind closed doors. We need transparency, new restrictions on lobbying and lawmakers, and a commitment to fiscal responsibility so our government stops bleeding red ink.’
