Greetings!

Let’s talk about the GOP for a second…

Nevada State GOP elected new officers this weekend:

  • Chairman – Dr. Chris Comfort
  • Vice Chairman – Sherry Dilley
  • Secretary – Carol Del Carlo
  • Treasurer – Dave Buell

Congratulations and good luck.

Let’s get past the past and move forward together:  Liberal democrats and Friends of Harry and Rory are sitting back to watch conservatives eat their own before the primaries.  Conservative candidates are attacking grassroots and each other, state and county parties are in a tailspin trying to prevent newcomers from infiltrating their ranks. County chairs are elected on the platform of “nothing will change” and winning, even though the power struggles and posturing turned Nevada dark blue last November. So now we have been promised that “nothing will change” and we are sitting back to watch it happen? Maybe.

The liberals have told us they are the party of unity, all the while covertly tearing conservatives apart.  Media differentiates us based on what kind of conservative we are… reagan republican, goldwater republican, social conservative, conservative democrat, moderate republican, constitutionalist, libertarian…… and it’s working.

Grassroots groups across the nation are suing eachother (and losing) because of the mixed messages and the lack of agreement on what kind of conservative base we should be building and how we should be building it. Conservatives are the new vanilla… vanilla bean, french vanilla, double vanilla, natural vanilla, roasted vanilla, everybody has to be their own flavor.

If we both agree on everything, one of us is unnecessary

Why the separation? Because conservatives expect Republicans to STAND for something, to DO something, to SAY something, and BE something special.  Maybe the new leadership will give Nevada republicans some pride back. The new state leadership has a a fighting chance to bring people together now that the old leadership has moved on; nobody has to take responsibility for the lack of structural integrity in the NV GOP.

If we can just remember, for one day at a time, that we are all taxpayers with families and jobs and responsibilities, then we can make the right choices at the polls in 2010 and in 2012… and so on.

We can let sniping and backstabbing, and territorial bickering provide all the ammunition Harry needs to sweep Nevada (again) or we can work together.

Thank goodness for the multitude of conservative groups across Nevada, holding fiscal conservatives together through the craziness. Maybe we have seen an end to state leadership secretly donating to Friends of Harry while asking you to blindly follow them into battle.  Not that it would matter, we only had the battle field rented until 5.

Regardless of our labels: Independent American, Libertarian, Republican, Conservative, Independent, etc… we are all in this together!

Now is definitely not the time for Apathy.

MEETING DATE CHANGE
Local Group to Recall Nevada Senator Bill Raggio

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Senator Bill Raggio
For more information, email RecallRaggio@gmail.com
NEW TIME: Recall Raggio Volunteer Meeting
When:
Thursday, November 19th, 2009 / 3:30 pm – 5:30pm
Where:
Northwest Reno Library
/ 2325 Robb Drive  Reno, NV 89523
If you ask the committee to recall Senator Bill Raggio, they will tell you that the time for talk is over.
A group of citizens in Senate District 3 intend to exercise their constitutional right to recall a Nevada State Senator on the grounds that he ran for election on a platform that “Now is not the time to raise taxes” and then, upon winning his Senate seat, led the charge to push through the single largest tax increase in Nevada State history.
The Committee to Recall Raggio says it is time to send a message to elected officials that they can no longer mislead voters before an election or ignore them after they get into office.   That legislators answer to their constituents, as Senator Raggio will soon learn.
The committee to Recall Senator Bill Raggio is holding the first volunteer meeting next Tuesday, details below. They are asking for you to be a part of this effort.  Volunteers do not have to be registered voters, and you do not have to live in Senate District 3.
If you’ve had enough of legislators saying one thing and doing another, now is the time for action.  As there is a time clock on recall petitions, the committee to recall Raggio intents to hit the ground running before the intent to recall is filed.  The number of people that volunteer to collect signatures is crucial for success.
Under the US Constitution, our legislators work for “we the people”. The committee to recall Raggio intents to make Nevada history and invites you to join them.
Fernley: Retraction, Recall Update, and Possible Improprieties
Correction, News, and YOU DECIDE
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Fernley, NV

New!

This statement was read into public record on
November 13th, at the Fernley City Council Meeting.
“Both special elections were conducted in the exact same manner.  The difference is the predetermined winner for Ward 3 lost by 37% of the total number of votes cast or 39 votes.  The predetermined winner for Ward 4 won by 4% of the total number of votes cast or 14 votes.
On October 12th,  a councilman read this statement into the record regarding the special election in Ward 3, “On Friday, October 9, 2009, the democratic process became a joke in the City of Fernley, County of Lyon, State of Nevada.”
It is extremely fortunate that this statement was not read into the record regarding the election in Ward 4 because on November 6, 2009 the democratic process was not a joke in the City of Fernley.  There was no democratic process, merely an impostor acting as an election.
 The citizens of the United States enjoy a wonderful privilege in the right to vote.  That vote translates as a voice.  When that voice is silenced, we become communistic.  The voters in Ward 4 had their voices silenced by despicable, immoral, unethical, and I strongly believe, unlawful conduct.  This conduct was carried out against a wonderful person who was a valid candidate by a small group of negative people disguised as a public entity.”

We now have electronic copies of documents referenced in the previous article.

Documents linked in BOLD below.

The Situation:

A group of citizens file an intent to recall, organize volunteers and completes a petition in accordance with the NV Constitution and guidelines set forth by the Secretary of State; including a signed grandfather of recall changes to the NV Constitution passed by the 75th session of the Nevada State Legislature.

A perspective candidate organizes volunteers and completes a nominating petition, files and qualifies as a candidate for City Council.

The Process:

Each document of the nominating petition was submitted for signature verification pursuant to NRS 293.1276 to 293.1279 to the County Clerk/Registrar of the county named on the document. (NRS 306.110(2))

The Legal Sufficiency:

The legal sufficiency of the petition may only be challenged by filing a complaint in district court. The complaint must:
a. Be filed in district court not later than 5 working days after the Secretary of State’s notification that the petition is sufficiency; and
b. Contain all affidavits and documents in support of the challenge. (NRS 306.040(5))

The Problem:

1. This letter was obviously distributed to people outside the mayor and secretary of state offices BEFORE the election. The letter itself is dated November 2nd and Channel 4 Television news aired the ’story’ about the potentially invalid nominating petition throughout the day during the election.

Click HERE for a copy of the original letter to the S.O.S., signed by Mr. Taggart, on City of Fernley (Office of the City Attorney) letterhead, allegedly directed by the Mayor of Fernley, and distributed prior to the special election.

2.  The challenging candidate received a phone call from the city attorney stating that he was instructed to send out the letter by the mayor. This telephone call was received 4 hours prior to the polls closing.

Click HERE for the challengers written response to the Secretary of State.

Anger is Brewing would like to know WHO received copies of this letter, when they received it, how many voters in District 4 were told about the circumstances outlined in the letter before the election, and how many voters heard on television that the candidate they were going to vote for was potentially invalid and then didn’t bother.  Seven votes determined the winner.

We are hoping for an investigation.

Click HERE for the Secretary of State’s response to Mr. Taggart’s original complaint.
