I would like to add, the way some missionaries in countries were Muslims do not allow Christians to openly talk about savior by Grace – as Muslims believe in the only hope for somebody who has not had a “good” life is by Jihad – Jesus saving sinners from hell is very good news indeed.

I digressed, The only way for missionaries to tell the good news about Christ is they are able to talk about the US. and well you need to understand some things about the US in regards to religion. We celebrate the birth of our savior. It is a big deal because he died to remove sin … It is not a day just to go spend money.

Americans can say many different names of different Gods, Muhammad, Buddah, etc… noone gets mad until the name of Jesus is said. Maybe it’s because it causes you to take a deeper look at your own life and see just how inperfect we all are compared to the love of Jesus. I love seeing Nativity scenes, and remember many religous plays that used to be held at our public schools. Why doesn America seek so hard to run from it’s own foundation to something that cannot even halfway equate to the love of Jesus?

Greg, at age 69 I have enjoyed seeing Nativity scenes for my lifetime displayed everywhere. What harm does anyone suffer by leaving things as they are? Does anyone infringe on your rights? NO. Do I pay taxes as you do? Yes.
Do you get paid for the Holiday named Christmas? YES. Do fedferal workers get paid for Christmas? YES…
Let things be and quit deriding Christianity as you see our government coddling Islamists! This is America…or it was!

Here’s what I don’t get: you have 350,000 churches and a great many more homes where you can place nativity scenes. Why do you choose to use public land to promote your religion? We all pay taxes on it, but you believe you have exclusive rights to it.

Wouldn’t it make more of a statement for you to put a nativity scene on every one of your front lawns and on the lawns of every church?

The town of Berkely, Michigan had a similar issue. Know what they did? They put it to a vote–and the majority wanted the religious display gone. Less people support religious displays than you think.
