At 2:18 a.m. on Oct 2, 2009 the Senate Finance Committee passed the bill out of Committee. Our attempts to get everyone to phone the Repub Senators & tell them to walk out failed. Not enough people phoned.

The bill goes now to the Senate Floor.

They are very close to having the votes. Debate in the Senate will likely occur Monday & likely will last only ONE day. And then the bill will go to the House.

We must, this weekend, phone people in the States of Senators possibly on the fence. We must get the people in those states to phone their Senators NOW & leave voice mails opposing this bill.

You must also phone, FAX & email the Senators of Maine (incl Olympia Snowe). Does it matter if you live in Maine? NO NO NO!
If Sen. Snowe’s office asks you Zip Code when you phone, what should you do? What did the people who hid Jews in Holland during World War II do? What did the Resistance against the Nazis in World War II do? You’re not being asked to do so much — you’re asked only to give a zip code for Maine. Look up a city in Maine on the Internet & get the zip code. Some are 04101, 04102, 04103, 04106, 04401, 04856, 04287, 03902..

If you need zip codes for any State go to http://whitepages.anywho.com/ and enter ANY common Surname such as “Jones,” Olson, Smith, Brown and then choose a state, & click SEARCH. You’ll see many zip codes come up for that state.
