If there are any attorneys visiting Desert Conservative I have a question.
Since the loose lending practices ushered in by Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac were the major offenders that caused the foreclosure crisis it would stand to reason that they caused the real property devaulation of the housing market.
As an example, my home sold to me was valued at $250,000.00 in 2005. After that I added granit counter tops, 4 ceiling fans, a brick patio and landscaping.
Due to the Fannie Mae and Freddie MAn ‘meltdown’ my home is currently valued at $115,000.00. My loss is $115,000.00 plus the costs of all improvements.
The question is, can Fannie Mae and/or Freddie Mac be sued for my losses? If so, would there be a potential recovery of attorney fees, punitive or exemplary damages?
I would appreciate a reply in the form of a comment. Additionally I can be e mailed at runlv2@yahoo.com.
