It appears Congress is displaying a “deer in the headlights” response to the nation’s current wave of economic troubles.
Bloomberg News reports that the Democratic-controlled Congress may adjourn without addressing the recent financial woes on Wall Street, instead leaving the Fed and the Treasury Department to find a solution to the current economic turmoil. As Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nevada) put it: “No one knows what to do” at the moment.
On the Senate floor Thursday, Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Kentucky) said Americans “want to know that their pensions, their savings, their families are going to be okay,” but that they are getting no indication their elected officials are willing to fix problem.
“Instead of coming together to face this problem head-on as a country, some of our colleagues have taken to the Senate floor to blame Republicans for the bad news,” the Kentucky lawmaker stated. ”It is little wonder why Americans hold this Congress in such low regard. We can all come up with a million reasons to blame someone for bad news, but it doesn’t change the fact that we all face these challenges together. It is time to confront the problem rather than point fingers.”
The House plans to adjourn Friday, September 26; the Senate a week later. ABC News reports that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-California) has offered to postpone adjournment to address the financial crisis.
Lee ADDS: I watched as Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid acted as if they had a solution to this crisis but really didn’t.
I see Barak Obama saying, “We must protect American’s finances.” Then he offers nothing more than what President Bush is already doing!
The Democrat Majority in Congress MUST END! They are a DO NOTHING, KNOW NOTHING Party seeking to LINE THEIR OWN POCKETS! Do not get taken in by Obama or any other politician that has nothing to say other than EXCUSES!

reid and pelosi and obama are pushing to leave the borders open so as many illegal immigrants whether they are criminal or not come over so they can make them or not so they have more votes for the democrates, but more and more legal americans are sick and tired of their tacticks and won’t be voting for democrates next time, because the ajenda is for the demo party not for legal americans trying to make a living and not for americans wanting to be able to defend themselves losing their 2nd ammendments rights, RIGHT, vote independent, anything but democrates except for the democrates that stand up for legal citizens rights like jon testor and max baucus.
