When will the Democrats of Congress wake up and look at a few facts about gasoline prices? It is their contention that, “America cannot drill it’s way out of surging gasoline prices.” This is stated by Nancy Pelosi, Harry ‘Hands Up’ Reid, and Barak Obama almost as a mantra.

According to Harry ‘Hands Up’ Reid and his cohorts, “Drilling in Alaska would not have an effect for over 5 years and then only about 3 cents a gallon.” 

If we had listened to the Republican leaders of the past, say 30 years ago, we would enjoy low prices today, tomorrow and for years in the future. The 5 year period on non-productivity would have been over for 25 years! Speculators would not be driving up prices, OPEC would not be the problem it is today and, we would be growing food to eat, not for using as fuel!

The Liberal media and news magazines that tout liberalism all side with the Liberal Democrats and, to be blunt, they are misguided and eating from the same troth as are the Politicians owned by special interest groups.

No oil drilling; no nuclear power plants; no clean coal power plants; no wind harnessing in our mountains or offshore, and hell no to any refineries! These are the sounds we hear from the Left. They don’t talk about it, they scream their loudest objections and smear anyone that dares to tell the truth to America about their damnable actions! At the same time they loudly castigate the Republican Party blaming them for the energy woes of America.

Look at all the waste caused by the Left! We use food as a fuel supplement to appease their benefactors. We dare not trespass on lands, too remote for toursim, that have proven volumes of oil and these lands lay baking in the sun. We spend countless tax dollars as we fulfill each and every requirement to secure drilling licenses to appease their environmentalist benefactors only to get yet more demands for ‘environmental studies,’ that are conducted by even more of their benefactors! Then these benefactors find ways to deny any drilling that they see as, not in their interest! 

It is a contention of the Left that if America were to produce more of its own oil , Americans would see no reason to develop other types of transportation. In short, they do not trust you! In their eyes you are short sighted, have no plans for your children’s future, and have no right to reasonable prices for fuel.

Look at the plight of a family just setting out after spending four years in College. In their early twenties they seek to buy a car. If they have student loans to repay they must be frugal in their vehicle purchase. A nice Hybrid will cost them a whopping $23, 657.00. With the cost of rent/house payments, insurance, food, medical care, furniture, and clothing, how much do they have to earn? If they are both college graduates and both have jobs they just might be able to afford that Hybrid and accompanying costs. Barely! If not a college graduate and no employment prospects of note are there, just how are they to buy that Hybrid?

If you have ever heard the phrase, ‘Pie in the sky,’ then you have heard the Democrat’s promises. They offer ‘Change,’ but offer no change other than to continue protesting new energy production with ‘new’ statements! There is their so called ‘Change!’

We can drill our way out of this oil problem of outlandish prices and can do it in less than 5 years! Shale oil development is a quick solution! The oil is so rich in areas of Colorado and Utah that you can literally set a rock, picked up on the surface, afire with a cigarette lighter. To begin oil production in those field would take a matter of months; not years!  

We have the oil but we need the refineries just as quickly as we need the oil so that it can be quickly converted to gasoline and diesel fuel.

So, the answers are known to our problem. It is a matter of electing the men and women who will implement those answers. In short, the current Liberal Democrats should  concentrate on solving the nation’s energy crisis and stop blocking every solution!
