Sermon 78

  As a Christain Pastor I felt compelled to make a copy of my next sermon a BLOG for any that are interested to view.  No matter waht your political leanings are the thoughts I convey are truthful, worthy of your consideration and applicable to modern times. I did not copy the ‘closing prayer’ that I say at the end of each of my sermons as I know nothing about your religious convictions. Right now all of God’s judgments on America are mirrored in her sins. America’s greatest sin is a vaunted pride, a ‘can do’ mentality. Our political, Judicial and Industrial leaders have been reflecting a, ‘we can overcome any problems facing this nation with no help from anyone, much less from God. Confidence is America’s ability to solve any problem, win any battle; develop a cure for any disease has been the common thought. ‘We can police the world,’ is apparently our thought as we reflect confidence in our armed might.

For many years God has been with us. Our Presidents and Legislators, Judges and Industrial leaders were able to overcome the problems faced by America. Our scientists discovered vaccines for all kinds of diseases and were able to learn how to perform medical feats beyond our wildest expectations. Diseases such as malaria, diphtheria, smallpox, tuberculosis, measles, polio as well as many other crippling diseases were not a worry.  Such things were ‘a thing of the past,’ in the average mind.

Now such cures e coming few and far between and diseases we had all but forgotten are rearing their ugly ‘heads.’ There is no vaccine in sight for AIDS. New3 bacteria are proving to be anti-body resistant. We are now facing ‘unsolvable’ societal problems’ the drug plague, homelessness  , chaos in schools, rampant crime, overcrowded jails, healthcare crisis, gang activity, the international sex slave trade, are not the only problems that face us but are among the worst.

It was not all that long ago that America was the ‘Number 1’ creditor in the world. Now we are becoming the ‘Number 1’ debtor nation.

If you name a problem we can solve, as a united nation, name it! The voiced thought of one elected politician was, “Maybe we have reached a stage in history when the three branches of our government, Executive, Legislative and Judicial branches just do not work anymore.” As he opined, “it appears as if each is gridlocked with no accountability.”

America has always been seen by the world as a haven for the world’s refugees. Due to gridlock and political incompetence this is grinding to a halt. Our government is no longer functioning and our ‘can do’ mentality no longer exists. All three branches of government will not agree on anything of substance. Sadly, although I love America, I see nothing but dysfunctional leaders on the horizon and no solutions ahead.

In my heart, and in my mind, I see that God’s judgment on America is in our future and that judgment may be as harsh as any ever faced by any nation. Just look at America’s actions that are, to say the least, expressions of our contempt and reflective of our disobedience to God.

God’s name is routinely trampled in our movie theaters. Anything moral, holy or Godly is swept aside and cast upon with great disdain. Pornographic materials are described as ‘artistic expression,’ criminal behavior is seen as more ‘deserving’ of ‘Constitutional Rights’ when compared to the Rights of the victims. Those seeking election to political offices can make any promise, no matter how false, and be deemed correct in doing so. Thirty million babies have been murdered by abortionists some during the birthing process. Entertainers are allowed to mock sacred things using the most profane language imaginable as they cite Constitutional Rights as their excuse for their actions.

Does anyone think that God is going to ‘wink’ at these actions? Does anyone think He cannot see all that is happening? NO. Our God is a just God and He will make America weep!

Look at facts, indisputable facts: Our economic power has weakened with the Euro, Pound, and Japanese Yen all surpassing the American dollar in strength. Murderers are spilling blood in our shopping malls, on our streets and in our schools. China, Russia and countries we thought of as ‘minor concerns’ are growing in power. Europe is becoming more Islamic every day and may become the ‘power base’ of the Antichrist!

All these things are happing before our very eyes and what do we do? God is exposing our ‘nakedness’ to the whole world and causing our external appearance to be seen as a match to the state of our soul! America is seen to be spiritually bankrupt and financial disarray is on our horizon. The judgment of America on us is being made so very clear and no other nation in the world will fail to see this! Not one!

We, as Christians, have Jesus as our Shield. With that being said, I caution you. These times demand a ‘special trust’ in Him. Weak Christians are among those who may become lost and afraid. They will lose their song of victory due to their lack of preparation. It will be the strong Christian, the Christian that has cultivated their life of prayer to God. I, as a shepherd, appointed by God, have been sermonizing on prayer and telling you of the awesome powers of prayer. I have told you of talking to God each and every day and to pour your hearts out to Jesus holding nothing back. Pray for faith to abound in you and in your loved ones. Pray for all to place more and more trust in God and for that trust to become unshakeable. When you are faced with the darkest of times, pray, pray and trust in God.  When you pray, be bold yet humble. Keep one thought it mind, that being:

Hebrews 13:6 That is why we can say with confidence, The Lord is my helper, so I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?

Just as Abraham, Moses, David, and the men and women that had NO DOUBT as to the power of their God, you must NEVER WAIVER! 

 Hebrews 13:5 …”I will never fail you. I will never forsake you.” 

Psalm 84: 11-12 For the LORD God is our light and protector. He gives us grace and glory. No good thing will the Lord withhold from those who do what is right. O Lord Almighty, happy are those who trust in You. 

Remain strong in the face of adversity. No man must gain power over you that will cause you to lose your faith in God. Of this you must be willing to undergo anything that, however physically painful, that would cause you to waver in your Christianity!
